The Office of Premedical Education ProgramsOPEP was established at UTB to provide services to support and encourage highly qualified students from the Lower Rio Grande Valley pursuing an education in health care. Support includes preparatory courses designed for high school students focusing on a health career and programs designed for prospective, current, and graduate students of UTB entering a health care profession. A list of programs and activities is found below. Each program is located on the left menu.

1) MEDICAL SPANISH COURSE: The Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine will sponsor a UTB/TSC Junior or Senior for a four week Medical Spanish Course this summer. How can you be a part of this program? Write a personal essay about your motivation and inspiration to become a physician and what measures you have been taking in order to achieve your goal. Submit your essay to the Premedical Office at LHSB 1.808A for selection to this program by February 15, 2007.

3) Anyone interested in attending the Spring Premed Conference at UTMB – Galveston on March 3, 2007. The office of Premedical Education Programs is taking a group of 30 students.
