Bachelor of Applied Technology Distance Education: Is it for me? |

|
This self assessment will help you decide whether distance education is right for you: 1. I have experience using a computer for word processing and e-mail. 2. I currently have an e-mail address and internet access, or will be able to get them before the course is offered. 3. I know how to locate sources on the World Wide Web. 4. I am comfortable asking for help when I need it. 5. I can meet deadlines and keep track of assignments. 6. I have the self-discipline needed to keep up with assignments without face-to-face interaction with the instructor and other students. 7. I am willing to spend as much time on a distance education class as I would in a traditional class. 8. I am willing to make time for study away from family, friends, work and other distracting factors. 9. I am flexible and willing to learn new material and new technology skills. If you answered "yes" to most of these questions, the Distance Education may be an appropriate choice for you. If you answered "no" or "not sure" to more than 3 questions, you should talk with the course instructor, an academic advisor or the Office of Distance Education prior to registering for the class. |
