Tutorial: Uploading a Video to PBwiki

NOTE: This tutorial is graphic intensive with many screen shots tp guide you through uploading a Power Point into Wimba. Please be patient as it loads the first time.

Overview

At least once during the semester you will be presenting to the rest of the class In Wimba. This first little orientation activity is designed to step you through the basics so you will be ready when it is your turn to present. Each time you need to present a Power Point in Wimba, you will use the steps included in this tutorial.


Step 1: Edit Page and Insert Plugin

First, you need to log in to the wiki and go into Edit page function of the Part B page in the wiki.

When you are in the editing screen, click on Insert Plugin.

Step 2: Using Plugins

The wiki has a variety of functions that can easily be added to our wiki. For today, you will only be using the Video Plugin. Click on Video, then select Upload a video by clicking on it.

Locate and click on the file upload icon as indicated below.

Step 3: Browsing to Folder

Click on Browse to continue uploading your video.

Once you have clicked on Browse, the Choose file window will open to the defalt file My Videos. If your video is there, find it and select it by clicking on the video and then on Open. If your video is in another folder, browse to the folder containing your movie, select your movie and click Open.

Step 4: Submitting your Video

Once you have found your movie, click on the box beside I accept the Terms of Use, then click on Submit. If you are uncertain about accepting the Terms of Use, click on the link to see what the terms are.

Your video will begin uploading. Just wait until it is finished.

Step 5: Finishing

When the video finishes loading, you will see the window below. Click on Finish.

Notice that your video is not yet available. Depending on the traffic flow into the fliqz site, it can take minutes to hours to be available.

Once your video is uploaded and you click on Finish, you will be taken back to the wiki page. Your video will appear as a black box. Make sure that your name is at the top of your video. Then click on Save. Come back in a couple of hours to view your video.
